The Loughborough Junction Noticeboard has arrived!!

Dear LJ residents,

We are delighted to see the community noticeboard outside the LJ station, Lambeth Council  suggested we (LJAG) apply for it and we hope it can help give LJ a bigger sense of place and community. It will show all the exciting things happening in LJ and has already started thanks to Tim’s swift move with posters over the week-end, thanks Tim!

If you know any group/art project/school/ anyone local who could be interested in advertising their activities, just let us know.

We also need volunteers to help find and link with those groups for regular updates of what’s happening (our own LJ Time Out really), so if you’re interested in this exciting opportunity please volunteer, you’ll be the best informed person in the area!

Also, 150 Posters and 1000 leaflets advertising the 19 October meeting are on their way from the printer, so the call for leafleting volunteers is imminent, be prepared!

The Loughborough Junction Forum is a grassroots organisation set up by local people to provide all members of the community with a way to improve the Loughborough Junction area. It is intended that it provides eyes, ears and a collective voice for the community. All participants are invited to provide accounts of what they see happening within the area and to share their concerns and ideas with the forum so that they can be collated and channelled to the relevant authorities.

  1. We need a brand new pavement structure outside the train station.

The noticeboard outside the station is good news, but without completly overhauling the appaling pavement it will never on its own make LJ look good. A tiny fraction of what is spent on Brixton pavements could do wonders to our derelict “town centre”. the local shops have to be part of the solution. right now, they are part of the problem. now they park their cars on the bit of the pavement which is supposed to be theirs, but that leaves us a tiny corridor to walk on.

and the filthy overflown bins have to be moved away from the noticeboard.

I am delighted i have stumbled upon this blog

  2. I thought this story could cheer everyone in LJ up. Nothing is impossible :
