Castelo Bar – Extended Opening & Music Licenses

The Castelo Bar on Cold Harbour Lane has applied for extended opening hours, with music licenses

The proposed hours are until midnight Monday to Thursday and until 4am on Friday and Saturday

I don’t believe this is appropriate for a bar which is in a densely populated area, many of the residents are likely to suffer from increased noise, discarded rubbish and the potential of anti social behaviour

Anyone who would like to appeal needs to do so by 1st July The Licensing Officer I have been in contact with is Esther Jones, details below Tel:- 0207 926 6144 Fax 0207 926 6130 email:- efjones@lambeth.gov.uk;

or email the entertainment licensing section of Lambeth using licensing@lambeth.gov.uk If this is something that concerns you, please send an email to Lambeth letting them know.

Regards, James

  1. I live just across the road from Castelo, and was sad that it closed down, in fact i was one of their rare costumers. I would be quite happy to see something new opening there, but these are worrying news indeed.

  2. Yes, it’s hard to figure out what would suit the area best – and why pubs and restaurants can’t seem to make a go of it. Would you welcome the idea of another pub?

    What kind of venue or shop would suit LJ the best at the moment? We’ve got two pretty great day cafe venues in The Beanery and the Sunshine Cafe – and Barney’s is pretty popular.

    Do you think a sit-down venue for the evenings would be able to make a go of it in LJ?
