Vincent in Brixton gets a walk – official launch

The new Van Gogh Walk is to be unveiled on Saturday 30 March from noon to 4pm – which is appropriate as it also would have been the great man’s 160th birthday.

If flamenco, music, face painting and balloons and hoops are not enough of a draw, the renamed walk, formerly Isabel Street, is well worth a look anyway. With its new planting, traffic calming and secure cycle parking for residents – and the plentiful new builds-  it’s an amazing area to explore.

A real win for community, schools, tenants, residents and Lambeth co-operating on a vision, Van Gogh Walk is destined to be a special outside space in an area where many do not have their own gardens.

It’s truly inspirational…

The Loughborough Junction Forum is a grassroots organisation set up by local people to provide all members of the community with a way to improve the Loughborough Junction area. It is intended that it provides eyes, ears and a collective voice for the community. All participants are invited to provide accounts of what they see happening within the area and to share their concerns and ideas with the forum so that they can be collated and channelled to the relevant authorities.

  1. Walked through this new walk as the finishing touches were being put in place. Very smart and definitely an asset to the nearby streets and somewhere to hold open air community events.
