Let’s keep LJ tidy campaign is about to start

This morning  the new Keep Loughborough Junction Tidy posters and bin stickers (beautifully designed by talented local illustrator Sam Bristow – sambristowb@gmail.com) finally arrived. We’ll be putting them up around the area on Sunday, 12 June. A group of local volunteers are co-ordinating the Loughborough Junction BIG TIDY UP.

If you love where you live and want to show that you care, come and join us – Lets give Loughborough Junction some much needed love…

We are meeting outside the train station at 11am and will be picking up litter from Coldharbour Lane and from LJAG tree planters; putting up posters and stickers, talking to the shop owners and passers by. We’ll be there until 1pm, so even if you are a late waker-upper, you still can join us – much more satisfying way to spend Sunday morning than sipping Mimosas in The Junction (though I love the Junction’s new breakfast with unlimited Mimosa) !

We can also update you on our (steamy) interactions with Lambeth StreetCare and Enforcement Team about dumped rubbish near CostCutter, Pomfret Road, Luxor st and Flaxman road. And Herne Hill Forum proposed Friends of the Earth waste collection scheme. And our campaign targeting school children (and some irresponsible parents) from the local primary and secondary schools.
